Are you a working mother looking to become more successful?  Do you enjoy reading but don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to it?  Would you like another working mom to help you decide which books are actually worth the time it takes to read them?

This blog contains summaries and critiques of all the books and audio programs I’m reading and listening to.  When I bought them I had high hopes- expecting each of them to help me on my own personal journey.  I’ll let you know whether or not they met my expectations based on the following criteria:

  • Did I learn anything new?
  • Was it interesting and entertaining?
  • Could I relate to the author?
  • Was the writing style easy to understand, and was it laid out in a format that helped facilitate learning?
  • Did I finish the book?  If I didn’t, why not?
  • Was it worth the time I invested to read it?

And then, there will be one final rating, the Business Mom’s 1-5 scale Ranking.  Here are what the numbers mean:

5- I will be able to point back to this book as one of the major contributing factors to my personal and professional success.  You should buy it ASAP!

4- This was worth all the time I invested in it, and I’d recommend it to you.

3- I learned a thing or two, but I’d only recommend it to you if you have a strong interest in its subject.

2-  I really wish I’d spent the time cleaning my house instead.

1- I did clean my house instead of finishing it.  My copy will be stored in the basement until I get around to having a yard sale.
